ENGLAND play NEW ZEALAND in the 2nd test starting Friday and I anticipate a similar result. ENGLAND are 8/13 for the victory but its worth waiting for an accurate weather forecast. The soccer season is over but South American and Scandinavian leagues amongst others are very much ongoing.
ENGLAND are now on top although a late flurry of wickets at Lords means they have 4 wickets left. They lead by 205 runs and will feel confident of victory as the wicket is continuing to remain stodgy and slow, with assistance for the spinners especially likely as the match draws to a close. G SWANN will be encouraged by this and of course J ANDERSON is the real threat having picked up 5 1st innings wickets. I am very optimistic of an ENGLAND victory and their current odds of 4/9 reflect this.

Our investment ENGLAND made slow progress on Day 1 going into the pavilion at 160/4. Cricket fans amongst you will appreciate what a slow run rate this is! But the clever ones will realise that the slow wicket meant scoring runs was difficult. However, one would expect 190 plus! It will be interesting to see how the pitch plays for the remaining 4 days. 300 will be a decent score and if J ANDERSON has some cloud cover and moisture to assist him, he will swing the ball like a banana and cause the Kiwis headaches. G SWANN may also receive assistance from the Lords wicket for his spin attack. I remain very positive.
All eyes are on the cricket and in particular our bet backing ENGLAND to win the 1st test. We await the toss where I’m sure both captains would opt to bat first on a decent Lords wicket. Can the 2nd best team in the world beat the 8th best? At odds of 4/5 this is a sensible investment. Of course you may back at longer odds early in the game, for example, if NZ bat first and don’t lose an early wicket.
FALCAO NETS 4/1 WINNER
We advised a late bet for the A MADRID V BARCELONA match backing FALCAO to score first. He duly obliged at 4/1, that’s twice he’s achieved this particular feat this season. We emailed you only 30 minutes before the match so apologies if you missed the trade.
As for the golf, there was no last round miracle for our bet ADAM SCOTT, who failed to place.

SOCCER DOUBLE – We backed BENFICA and BARCELONA on a handicap double. BARCELONA won 4-2 last night so we await BENFICA’s match tonight to see if we are to be triumphant.
FOOTNOTE – You will recall we backed MARS in the 2000 GUINEAS horse race at the weekend. MARS wasn’t placed however we advised you to bet via LADBROKES as they had a special offer whereby refunds would be honoured if DAWN APPROACH wins and your horse loses. That’s exactly what happened so there’s no loss if you used LADBROKES for this race.
A good start to the month – we backed CHELSEA with a -1 Asian handicap last tonight and they beat BASEL 3-1 after conceding the 1st goal just before half time.
The match presented a great in-play bet with BASEL 1 up. You could then have backed CHELSEA with a very confident DRAW NO BET trade as the chances of CHELSEA losing the match was low and the price was around EVENS for the bet.
There are 3 golf tournaments under way so expect a bet in the next day or so.

A much more productive day, with all tips coming in! I had a 9/1 winner, and an 8/1 winner, and the last was placed at 5/1. Even if you bet the tips I said at each way to be safer, you would have a profit of 19/20 points today! I will post my points totals for the month in the next couple of days for viewing ok!
